I am the founder of The Walking Free Foundation.
For many years, I was actively involved in our local judicial circuits, most recently serving as a CASA Advocacy Specialist, a role similar to a Guardian Ad Litem. Through my work with a local nonprofit and national-level training, I have gained deep insight into the foster care system and the long-term impact it has on children, families, and communities. I’ve also become well acquainted with how well-meaning, but misinformed parenting, creates generational mess.

In my role, I supervised CASA Volunteer Advocates, co-facilitated trainings, and worked closely with families and professionals in the child welfare field. These experiences have revealed a sobering reality: while well-intentioned, our judicial system often lacks the resources to truly support struggling parents…resulting in painful, prolonged separations. What children need most isn’t just a foster placement, but healthy, emotionally supported parental figures. An unhealthy system, like an unhealthy parent, cannot nurture a child’s well-being.

But my work doesn’t stop there. I’m equally passionate about supporting everyday parents who are trying to do better, those seeking to break generational cycles, build emotional awareness, and raise securely attached children. Whether you’re navigating behavioral challenges, emotional disconnection, or simply want to grow in confidence as a parent, I’m here to help.

In addition to supporting families, I have a deep calling to walk alongside women who have been betrayed or deeply hurt in intimate relationships. These women often carry silent wounds…wounds that affect how they love, trust, and show up in the world. Through compassionate counseling, I help women rebuild their sense of self, establish healthy boundaries, and reclaim their voices. Healing is possible, and they don’t have to do it alone.

I also hold a special place in my heart for children who need encouragement and confidence-building. Whether they’re navigating the aftermath of family instability or simply struggling to see their own worth, I aim to create a space where every child feels seen, heard, and empowered. Helping them discover their strengths and resilience is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

As a mother of four, I know firsthand the challenges of parenting and the transformational power of healing. I bring both personal and professional experience to each family I support, offering practical guidance rooted in compassion, lived wisdom, and evidence-based strategies. Together, we’ll explore your unique family dynamics, identify areas for growth, and build healthier rhythms and routines, so you can become the kind of parent your children don’t have to recover from.

I have created and published an effective tool for helping cultivate secure bonds between children/parents. The interactive journal can be found on Amazon at: Bonded | Amanda Hullum or purchased in the office.

With over 15 years of experience in child advocacy, mentoring, abortion support, public speaking, homeschooling, and nearly 14 years of marriage, I meet families right where they are. Whether in the welcoming offices of The Walking Free Foundation/The Healing Cottage or the comfort of your home, we’ll set achievable goals and walk the healing journey hand in hand.

I am the founder of The Healing Cottage of the CSRA, dedicated to helping individuals and couples heal from past wounds, navigate present challenges, and build a future of emotional intimacy and effective communication. My approach is holistic, trauma-focused, and attachment-centered, addressing the deep impact of trauma on the body, mind, and spirit.

My journey into this work began in my 40s when I returned to college, earning a BA in Counseling and an MA in Clinical Pastoral Counseling, both Magna Cum Laude. Committed to lifelong learning, I continually expand my expertise through ongoing training and education to better serve my clients. I am currently pursuing my PH.D. in Clinical Pastoral Counseling.

I have extensive experience counseling adults dealing with marital problems, childhood trauma, sexual trauma, Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), low self-esteem, and shame.
I have had the privilege of training under Dr. Roger Boehm, D.C.C., Ph.D., a specialist in DID counseling.

With 28 years of experience in teaching, mentoring, public speaking, and counseling, I have a deep background in many areas of ministry.
In 2006, I created a curriculum to help people discover their identity in Christ and recognize their motivational spiritual gifts.
In 2023, I began transforming this curriculum into an interactive workbook,
Spiritually Motivated: Who You Are, Why You Are Here, and What To Do About It.
